Community Screenings

The Saving Our Wild Isles film is too good to miss

Sir David Attenborough tells a story of hope in a time of crisis for UK nature in Saving Our Wild Isles: a documentary that came to BBC iPlayer in Spring 2023. Commissioned by WWF, the RSPB and the National Trust, and produced by Silverback Films, the documentary was inspired by the Wild Isles series and shares stories of passionate people across the UK who are working to bring nature back from the brink.

We all have the power to make a real difference, to help bring nature back to life. Use film to bring your community together and make a real impact for nature in your local area.

The Wing Hong Elderly Group took part in the Mobilising Community Climate Action Project funded by WWF and National Lottery Community Fund. Based in Glasgow, this group used the funding to make improvements on their community garden where they grow fresh food for their lunch club. This project allowed the community to reconnect with their Chinese heritage, build a solid foundation for reducing their emissions and share traditional knowledge on how to live sustainably.

Will you arrange a community film screening?

You don’t need to be a nature expert to organise a screening and have a chat in your community. All you need is an interest in nature and a drive to make a difference. We will guide you through how to organise a community screening, useful information, and how you can effectively plan for action.

A screening is also a perfect opportunity to celebrate your successes so far and discuss how you can build on these overtime.
